Hat Quality Inspection Standards

Complete hat quality inspection process: visual check, dimension measurement, accessory confirmation, packaging inspection. With wholesale QC checklist.

Visual inspection points

Visual inspection is the first step of QC. Check whether weaving or pressing is uniform, color is consistent, and surface is free of stains or damage. Felt hats need pilling and fading checks, straw hats need weave density and joint checks, cowboy hats need crown symmetry and stitching checks.

Dimension measurement standards

Measure head size (circumference), brim width and crown height against the approved sample. Head size tolerance is typically ±0.5 cm, brim width ±0.3 cm, crown height ±0.5 cm. Sampling rate per batch is no less than 10%.

Accessory and craft inspection

Check logo placement, hat band attachment, sweatband sewing, inner tags and hang tags. Logo craft (embroidery, debossing, metal pins) must match the approved sample. Hat band width, color and material need verification. Sweatband stitching must be secure with no skipped or loose stitches.

Packaging and shipping inspection

Confirm packaging method (OPP bag, paper box, carton) matches the order. Check carton marks, packing quantity and assortment ratio. Before container loading, verify carton count, volume and weight. Provide inspection report for client confirmation before shipment.
